Real Estate Taxes

There are three components to every resident’s annual real estate tax bill.

Borough of Kenhorst Real Estate Taxes:

The current Kenhorst Borough real estate tax rate is 5.6 Mills. This includes the general borough portion of 4.314 mills plus the Emergency Services portion of 1.5 mills. The Emergency Services encompasses Fire, Police and Ambulance Services. The Borough Real Estate Tax is issued each year on March 1st along with the County Real Estate Tax Bill.

Berks County Real Estate Taxes:

The current Berks County real estate tax rate is 7.6570 Mills.

Governor Mifflin School District Taxes:

The current Governor Mifflin School District Real Estate Tax rate is 24.5 Mills.

The Governor Mifflin School District Per Capita tax is $14.70 for every person over 18 years of age who resides within the school district.

How to pay your Kenhorst Borough taxes

Taxes may be paid in-person or by mail. If the Borough Office is closed, Tax payments may be dropped into the Tax Collector's Drop Box located next to the side door on Liberty Avenue. Vacation dates will be posted on the Borough Office door.

As of January 1, 2017, the Tax Collector no longer accepts cash for payment. Taxes can be paid by check or money order. Note: There is a $40.00 charge for all returned checks.

Past Due Taxes

All Borough/County and School real estate tax bills not paid by the end of the current calendar year will be turned over to the Berks County Tax Claim Bureau for collection. Penalties and additional fees apply. Questions regarding unpaid real estate taxes should be directed to the Berks County Tax Claim Bureau at 610-478-6625.

All Per Capita Tax bills not paid by the end of the current calendar year will be turned over to GH Harris Associates for collection. Penalties and additional fees apply. Questions regarding unpaid per capita taxes should be directed to GH Harris at 570-639-5005.
