Borough History
Originally created from developments known as Farview, South Farview, Farview Hills, Ridge Park, Ridge Park Addition and Rothfields in Cumru Township, Kenhorst got its name from two local families — the Kendall family who operated a large farm along Lancaster Avenue in the 18th ward in the City of Reading, known as Kendall Park, and the Horst family who owned a large estate along New Holland Road to the south. The two names were combined to form the Borough of Kenhorst and incorporated in 1931. LEARN MORE
